Complete Works of Pir-O-Murshid (1926 I) Hazrat Inayat Khan
Original texts: Lectures on Sufism
1926 I : December 25 – March 12, 1926
A complete collection of talks by Inayat Khan during the first half of his 1926 visit to the United States
The initial volume from 1926 presents the first set of lectures Inayat Khan gave in America during his final visit there, and cover the dates from December 1925 through March 1926. These lectures were exceptionally long and full, and they represent a culmination of his public teaching, just as the last Summer School in Suresnes that followed contains the culmination of his esoteric teaching. He began the tour with a long stay in New York, then visited Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. The lectures were all transcribed by his secretary Kismat Stam, providing a reliable and accurate record. Many of these lectures have never before been published and indirectly provide a colorful picture of the tumultuous spirituality of the American audience of the day.
