You are that! – Gangaji
“You Are That! Satsang With Gangaji, Volume 2” is a compilation of teachings given by the spiritual teacher Gangaji during satsang gatherings held with students around the world. At the heart of the book lies her central message that what people are searching for – peace, fulfillment, freedom – is not something to be found outside themselves but is who they already are. Rather than presenting a philosophical system, the book records live dialogues in which Gangaji responds directly to questions brought to her by students, guiding them to look past their habitual patterns of thought toward a more direct recognition of their own true nature.
Across these exchanges, Gangaji addresses the roots of everyday human suffering and touches on a wide range of concrete life situations, including self-doubt, the search for enlightenment, parenting, and intimate relationships. Her approach is shaped by her own spiritual path: born in Texas in 1942, she studied Zen Buddhism and Vipassana meditation and worked as an acupuncturist before traveling to India in 1990, where she met her teacher, Sri H.W.L. Poonja (Poonjaji), an encounter she describes as the moment she recognized true fulfillment within herself.
As the second volume in the “You Are That!” series, the book continues in the same satsang format as the first volume, offering readers an intimate, conversational entry point into her teaching on self-inquiry and non-dual awareness, aimed at anyone drawn to contemplative and spiritual questions about the nature of the self.
